✿ My Love of Textiles and Stitching ✿

From an early age I loved painting, drawing, snipping up bits of paper, and I made my dolls clothes on my mother’s sewing machine. I thoroughly enjoyed art and needlework at school. During my teenage years I made most of my own clothes and bags, and was a true 70's young hippy! I completed the Fashion Textile Design degree course at Brighton in 1984. Specialising in woven textiles, I won various prestigious Royal Society of Arts awards, including the coveted Travel Bursary. After my degree course, I worked in Retail Buying, Design Consultancy and ran a small business making and selling woven designs. In 2004 , what was a hobby, making cards for family and friends turned into a  new small business.
